Reliable Maritime Connectivity, Backed by a Verified
Iridium Reseller

Iridium builds the only satellite network with true pole-to-pole coverage, and certifies the terminals that run on it. As a verified reseller, GIT Satellite Communications turns that network into a working system aboard your vessel – matching the right hardware to your operation, sizing the airtime plan to how you actually sail, activating it before it ships, and answering the phone when you need help at sea.

Why Buy Iridium Through GIT

Verified Iridium Reseller

Authorized to supply genuine Iridium Connected(TM) equipment and
activate service on the Iridium network.

One Invoice, One Team

Hardware, airtime, and billing in a single quote – no chasing separate vendors for the terminal, SIM, and plan.

Activated Before It Ships

Equipment arrives provisioned and tested, with installation guidance or coordination with your installer.

Support From Shore

Real people for troubleshooting, plan changes, and seasonal suspensions.

The Challenge

Coverage Gaps Don’t Care About Your Schedule

Beyond coastal range, crews lose contact, position reports stop, and compliance reporting falls behind. Heavy weather, high latitudes, and restricted waters take VSAT and other LEO links offline exactly when the vessel needs them most – and GNSS jamming is now a routine hazard in several of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

The Solution

L-Band That Holds When Everything Else Drops

Iridium’s constellation covers 100% of the planet, poles included. GIT supplies the terminals, airtime, and expertise to keep voice, safety alerting, tracking, and operational data moving from any position on the chart – as your primary link or the layer that carries you through when the others fail.

  • Truly global coverage, pole to pole
  • IMO-recognized GMDSS safety services
  • One partner for equipment, airtime, and support

Key Capabilities & Advanced Communication Features

From the smallest leisure craft to SOLAS-regulated fleets, we match Iridium services to the job your vessels actually do.

Hybrid & Backup Connectivity

Iridium Certus L-band keeps you online through heavy weather and restricted waters, when Ka/Ku-band links drop out.

GMDSS & Safety Compliance

IMO-recognized distress alerting, safety voice, and maritime safety information for SOLAS and non-SOLAS vessels.

Fleet Tracking & Monitoring

Real-time position, geofences, and engine or bilge alerts across workboats, fishing fleets, and shipping lines.

Resilient PNT

Iridium PNT provides an independent position and timing source when GPS/GNSS is jammed or spoofed.

Antipiracy & Ship Security

Citadel communications and SSAS alerting to meet security
requirements in high-risk waterways.

Buoys & Autonomous Vessels

Low-power IoT links for data buoys, USVs, and remotely operated craft reporting from open water.

Maritime Satellite Questions, Answered

The questions owners, masters, and fleet managers ask us most often before they buy.

Why buy Iridium through a reseller instead of directly?

Iridium sells its services through authorized partners. As a verified reseller, GIT bundles the hardware, airtime plan, activation, and day-to-day support so one team is accountable for the whole system – and so you have someone to call who already knows your configuration.

What is the difference between Iridium Certus 200 and 700?

Both run on the same global L-band network. Certus 200 terminals are smaller and suit voice, email, and moderate data; Certus 700 terminals deliver higher speeds for crew internet and operational applications. We size it to your vessel, crew, and budget.

Can Iridium work alongside my existing VSAT or LEO system?

Yes. Many fleets run Iridium Certus as the L-band layer in a hybrid network, so critical traffic keeps moving in heavy weather, at high latitudes, or in waters where other services may be restricted.

Does my vessel need GMDSS?

SOLAS-regulated vessels must carry GMDSS equipment appropriate to their sea area, and many non-SOLAS operators add it voluntarily. We help you confirm flag-state and class requirements before you buy, then supply and commission the right system.
