The 9522B is a second-generation Iridium L-Band Transceiver (LBT) designed to be embedded into a range of mobile satellite terminals, packaged with an external power supply, antenna and other components. The compact, lightweight LBT unit with built-in SIM card reader supports all Iridium-based services, including voice telephony, circuit-switched data, short-burst data (SBD) and short message service (SMS).
The 9522B LBT includes a 26-pin IDC connector interface with external keypads, displays, phone handsets, microphones, speakers and processor units. An RS-232 serial interface supports data and voice applications. The DPL bus is used for external peripherals. An SMA connector is provided for connection to the antenna. An additional SMA connector is provided to feed the antenna to a GPS receiver when a shared antenna is used.
Like all Iridium devices, the 9522B leverages Iridium’s global gap-free coverage, high network reliability and low-latency satellite links to provide a wide range of voice and data solutions for mobile users outside the reach of landlines and terrestrial wireless networks. The rugged unit has been tested to provide reliable operation under extreme environmental conditions, and is FCC, IC and CE approved.
